Life and Ambiguity

Let me Say to start. I am very blessed for all of the opportunities I have and the fact that I can take these amazing journeys and see places most of my family and almost all of my friends only dream of. I wanna talk about Slovenia, It is a small eastern European country on north eastern tip of italy. This is a region that is comprised of the julian alps they look so beautiful I may post a photo or two later. I begin my first day there with survival training we lit fires with flint rocks and we played a game where we searched for an avalanche detector as if it were a person on a mountain side. We had a lovely lunch of of course random meat and cheese but with an addition of the best tea i have ever tasted and hot spiced wine. Then we went dogsledding. it is an amazing experience to be repeated. After that we headed back to the hotel for some R and R. I stayed with my good friends Shannon, Gentry, and Amanda. My roommate Aimee Kling came on the trip and even though we didn’t spend much time together I was with her enough to remember my first impression of her which was that she is a very kind and sweet woman. My new wedge heel boots that I spent like 50 euro on broke during the trip out of no where even though i had only had them for like 3 weeks. That was a bummer. We went to the sauna down stairs after being warned that in the sauna/turkishbath/coolingpool/jacuzzi area you had to be naked. IT was required and it was AMAZING. I have never felt so free in my life and I think that my friends felt the same. Then we went out to dinner at a Slovenian resturant and were seated with some other members of our program two girls called Stephanie and Laura they were waiting for some boys to arrive and they looked kind of desperate for this on first impression and that made all of us wonder why. When the boys arrived Bryan proceeded to speak ill of the waitress and her services even though he in fact was incredibly late. Thats when the FIYACRACKA came to life. Shannon went so hard in the paint. “Have you ever been a server before” “Yes” says Byran “And you’re still and asshole?” Said Shannon. This lovely moment was actually missed by me. Because I only caught the beginning. Byran quickly fell in line and started being congenial if not cool. The boy who was sitting next to me was named Daniel. Daniel is from Lexington, KY He goes to Transylvania University there and he knows Pastor Norman which is the brother of one of my moms very best and I can say one of my good friends Maria Fischer. So we instantly bonded. I have taken a bit of a shinning to him and hope that he is not a fake person and that we hang out back here in florence. Anyway the meal is completed it’s time to party at Pub Bled. Im a black girl in Easter Europe they treated me like I was the only girl at the party. This one guy just kept giving me drinks for free and I did not ask. He was a bit of a stalker though because he stalked us to another bar, the casino area, and the lakeside. I had the best time, drank more than usual. I had a religious convo with shannon and daniel. Daniel was hanging with me and Shannon a lot and promised to run with her. We went back to the hotel, went to bed because we wanted to go at 12pm to a hike to the castle at lake bled. This didn’t happen. We woke up super late and we lost our Firecraker almost all day. We went and had soup for lunch. Then tried to get a massage appointment and Amanda was left out of the first place it was a major bummer. She ended up getting a massage at our place. We bought bottles of wine started drinking then caught up with shannon and went to this 4 star hotel with a mega spa under it. I had my very first massage it was 80 mins and when I came out I felt like a million bucks. They had a nice pool wth a slide and the saunas were like so awesome aromatic and naked, Naked, NAKED. Then we went to dinnner at a mexican resturant it was good. The same old crew of randoms. We kind of bonded with Stefanie that night when she left pub bled to come to an irish pub with us and daniel. She seems like an independent thinker. We kept going to this place called the buddha club and there was always no one in it and they played disco for no reason. It was cute tho. We took their shots which are tequila and chased with an orange slice covered in cinnamon which was quite delish. Went home then Carnavale the next day. It rained there were a lot of people. I ended up getting screwed paying 20 euro for one cappachino and one coffee. The waiter their like was seriously feeling me. Amanda was my kick it buddy for the day because we got separated from gentry and shannon. I made us find my Jenny and Christine. Christine blew off a tour to drink wine with us. VERY COOL. Then she left, it started raining. I was drunk we had to navagate to find  the other two. Then we had them get on a water bus to take pics and amanda and I went for pizza. Amanda got her nickname on the trip she is the soul sister. They gave me the nickname Boss a while back. We went home and thats all for now tumblr im tired :-)
